Flora Medlicott
Flora is a London-based vocalist, composer/arranger, choral director and music educator.
Flora is a versatile vocalist, though she primarily sings jazz. She has performed, recorded and workshopped with many world-renowned jazz musicians, including Dave Holland, Norma Winstone, Nikki Iles, Ian Shaw, Claire Martin, Mark Lockheart, John Parricelli, James Maddren, Mike and Kate Westbrook, Scott Stroman, Pete Churchill, Malcolm Edmonstone, Lee Gibson, Steve Brown, Dave Whitford, Anita Wardell, Kurt Elling, Michele Hendricks, and the late Jon Hendricks.
Flora has also performed at numerous top venues including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Royal Albert Hall, 606 Club, The Jazz Cafe, Spice of Life, King’s Place, The Barbican, Vortex Jazz Club, Saint Peter’s NYC and Crazy Coqs.
As well as performing as a solo jazz singer, Flora also works as a session singer and has recorded at Abbey Road Studios, Maida Vale, Air Studios, and Livingston Studios. Flora sang backing vocals for Tom Odell on the UK tour of his album Best Day Of My Life in 2022, and worked as vocal coach for top UK DJ Sigala’s 2020 UK tour of his album Brighter Days. Alongside her solo work, Flora also sings soprano in the London Vocal Project - the UK’s leading contemporary groove and jazz vocal ensemble, directed by jazz composer and pianist Pete Churchill.
With over 20 years of experience as a fully-qualified teacher of music, Flora is a jazz professor at the world-class conservatoire The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she directs the jazz choir and teaches one-to-one jazz and vocal technique.
Flora’s new album, Everything Must Change, is due for release in early 2026. It features seven original tunes, written and arranged by Flora, featuring Pete Churchill (piano), Jules Jackson (bass), James Maddren (drums) and Andrew Woolf (clarinet and tenor saxophone).
Flora recorded vocals with the London Vocal project for Vital Spark, a new album recorded by Dave Holland, Norma Winstone and the London Vocal Project directed by Pete Churchill, set for release on 20th February 2026.

Everything Must Change
Flora’s new solo album of original music brings together her love of classical and jazz, including adaptations of Holst and Vaughn Williams, and a setting of e.e. cummings’ poem, I carry your heart with me. Due for release in Spring 2026.
